    Anyone know what do do when an Amstrad DRX400 gets stuck in standby? the red light has gone dimmer than usual, ive tried turning it off for a day or so with no luck. Cheers!

    I have got an Amstrad Digibox and on alot of the channels it come up "No Satelite Signal being received", I have tried turning it off and pressing the back up button and turning it back on, it doesn't help. I've done the LNB pages but that didn't help either. Thanks for reading and hopefully you can help me before I have to call Sky and pay the £65 charge. I have also tried all the cables and none of them are loose or in the wrong place.

    The details of the skybox are as follows> BSkyB Digital Satellite Receiver Interfaces ? IF input ? Modem telephone line ? Left and Right Audio Outputs ? TV and VCR SCART. I am trying to connect my LG 19" Wide Screen TFT 16:10, DVI & D-Sub moniter to my skybox and I dont seem to be having much luck on finding the right cables to do this so I can watch my sky tv on my moniter.I have been told not to bother and get a nice big HD Ready Digital LCD TV but its ll well if you have the money for on.Lol Its all well if you have the money for one! Lol

    My satellite system has suddenly died, and I am trying to work out why. I was watching sky tv fine up until yesterday, when I tried to turn it on and it says NO SIGNAL. I tested with my satellite finder, and the signal is very strong. I have tried leaving the box off for 10 minutes in case it just needs to reset itself - still not working. The receiver is an Amstrad DRX 550, only about 1 month old, and one of the latest sky boxes available. It was working 100% until yesterday. The satellite is tuned fine. Is there anything I can do to test or repair my receiver? Or could this be a problem with something else?

    I used to play a game called Henrys House, it was awesome! I can't remember what console it was on as I had an Atari, Amstrad and a spectrum all at the same time. Has anyone else heard of this game or where I could play it now? It was the 80's I tried that site and you can't play the actual game, it just has screenshots

    I have over 40 floppy discs to transfer onto CDs but My PC will not do it.     I live in France and have a 'normal' TV set connected to a 6 year old Amstrad digi- box with which we can receive all UK terrestial channels and can play CDs and DVDs through a DVD player/ recorder (2 years old now). Everything is connected via SCART leads. I would like to improve my system and am looking to buy a straightforward not too expensive surround sound/home cinema system to bolt on to my existing system without having to invest in a new TV at present. I am however expecting to have to buy a new DVD player. As you have probably guessed I know very little about this so can someone advise me how to proceed and the basics of what to look for and to buy etc.

    i have my dads old CLR2 aerial none missing with the coax and wall brackets and a amstrad 901 and a cobra 148 and one power pack. I have no way of testing the stuff but it was all working about 5 years ago when taken down when we moved.

    Things like video recorders and black and white tellies don't count. It has to be something that has been superseded for a while and is unlikely to be found in many homes. Like an Amstrad computer or a non-electronic typewriter or a gramophone player. Also, it has to be used rather than ornamental. I'm intrigued to know what's still actually in use and how long technologies take to totally disappear. This was the most appropriate category I could find but I don't mean just electronics. Come to think of it, black and white tellies probably DO fit the bill.

    Hey everybody, Need some help, i'm looking for some updates or new firmwares for the above mentioned boxes. I've moved away from the UK and am know trying to use this boxes with my dish but i have access to diferent satelites from the ones that cover skydigital and the boxes are programed to access only one.     I have got this sky box: DRX550 BSkyB i do not have a sky line or anything. got this sky box from a friend. i was told that i can get freeview channels using this box but i am not getting any? what do i have to do? i connected my tv to the wall socket and then my tv to the sky box. got power on in everything but still cant get any free channels. i just get 5 channels( which i can get without sky box). any idea, please help. here's the picture of the sky box i have: http://www.amstrad.com/products/digisat/drx550.html thanks.

    Well, I managed to avoid Win95, Win98, etc, etc, but now, I can't hold back anymore. My old Commodore 64 has too many cookie crumbs in the cracks of the keyboard - so many in fact that I can't even press the keys down anymore! I'm thinking to upgrade to an Amstrad - y'know, one of them nice shiny green screen things. I hear they can make a rabbit shape on the screen, from words and things - and in only 15 minutes!! I'm not looking for advice for Windows Vista or an iMac - bloody futuristic nonesense! Scorcery it is! So if anyone has advice about upgrading me good old Commodore 64, I'd be much grateful!

    And his merry Men & Ladies. Since the 70's, we in the computer industry have hassle after problem with Bill. I have emailed him directly three times with no response. Perhaphs he is asleep, dead, or chooses not to answer a direct question. or even it may be that his software is kicking up again. Oh, Mac is worse, and for heavens sakes do not touch hardware with "AMSTRAD" on the label. Gods, the MOD uese thrm as examples of how dodgy they are. OK, grumpy man, stop whinging, but please help me flood Microsortof with software complaints. 95, 98, 2000, XP, vista. Not bothered - they all have a "sorry about that" notice. Rally together, freinds, and they may reliase that we are fed up with paying for Bills' lifestyle !
