    A couple of months ago I remember them talking crap about the Lakers and their fans, getting cocky all over their win streak (impressive, but got the fans too cocky) Now we sit atop the Western Conference with an easy first win, while the Rockets have lost home court advantage with a loss. Did the Rockets fans on Yahoo Answers jump off the bandwagon after their streak ended and they dropped to 5th place?

    Ever since we moved here (I was like 8) I always wanted to go to Berkeley. Always. Number One pick for me. As I got older, my parents and I started having fights about my homosexuality (why I even told them in the first place I'll never know). I have never "acted out" on it or anything, and I am a good kid (don't smoke, drugs, party, sex, etc...).I have gone to an ex-gay conference just to make them happy. I am still seeing a therapist after two years (I am 18 now). I have done EVERYTHING that they have asked of me. Obviously I can't change my orientation, and even if I could, I wouldn't do for them with how they act about it. My mom keeps telling me that she cries each night about it. My dad threatens to kick me out. And their whole logic behind this is: GOD. Anyways, so I have been accepted into and have narrowed it down to Berkeley (spring semester) and ASU. I normally wouldn't consider ASU with my 4.0+ GPA and extracurricular activities but they've offered a nice scholarship where I'd only have to pay about $3000 a year, and that's considering room and board. The only way I could go to Berkeley is if my parents covered my tuition and I paid for my own living expenses (I was going to live at home the first year and commute, and then move out). Well, yesterday my parents told me "they were sorry" but they would not support any education that I would be getting at Berkeley. The "environment" is terrrible they say, running around with gays and atheists and protesters. Yet they NEVER mentioned this until now. I feel like screaming and crying and tearing my hair out. OF COURSE I would rather go to Berkeley. Who wouldn't?!?!?! But to make that work I'd have to get a loan just for Undergrad, and then more for Grad school (I plan on attending law school). My parents said that they could cover my expenses at ASU (oh by the way, it's their honors college), and that I could do whatever I want there. FINALLY be independent. And then the remaining $25000-30000 that's left I can use for law school. I really don't know what I should I do. My parents have screwed me over. They raised me expecting me to go to Berkeley, and now that I am so close, they are cutting off any aid. So what if I want to be a lawyer? That doesn't mean I want to fight for gay rights! Sure I wrote that in my college entrance essay for Berkeley (and all the UCs actually), but I only wrote that so I would stand out! To make it a good essay! Anyways, what do you think I should do?     So me and 4 friends have a bet on the NBA Playoffs. We each put in some money and the winner takes it all. We each picked a western conference team that we think will make the playoffs. The person who gets it right wins. -I picked the Lakers -Someone picked the Suns -Someone picked the Hornets -Someone picked the Mavericks -Someone picked the Spurs If none of those teams make the Finals. Then the team that makes it the farthest wins.

    I didnt come up with this idea I read somewhere that don nelson had said somehing along these same lines but with the west having so many teams with over 50 wins I think the nba should change the way they do the playoffs. Take the best 16 records and line them up accordingly. It would mean that the 16 best teams would be playing for the championship. Get rid of conference and divisions and even out the number of times each team plays each other. It would have a feel of the ncaa turney then. Also there be no talk of a team not being as good as their record shows just because they played in a weaker conference. I'm sure the nba wouldn't do smething like this but who else thinks it would be a good idea to try even for one yr. I have no sourses...its not even something the nba is considering I'm sure. Just an Idea of how to change the system to something that would be a little more exciteing. No I'm not a GS fan I'm actually a pcers fan...and I dont mean only play one game like the ncaa keep it the best of 7 format...just have the best 16 teams in the playoffs. Im just saying it would have the feel of the ncaa turney...dont pick teams like they do. missxnikkay_99 very good point...money is what its all about but I still think it would be a little better as far as the number of good teams in

    I think that if a team in either conference has a losing record(example Atlanta 37-45 or Philadelphia 40-42) they should be automatically withdrawn from the playoffs and you add in the next highest record despite conference(Example Golden State would 48-34 and Portland 41-41) I would like to see the best competition available, and I know that Atlanta has improved much since their trade, yet still a losing record in the playoffs still bothers me I think should apply to all sports "You're a GSW fan arent you?" Nope Phoenix Suns actually, needless to say I was more than happy to see Phoenix knock out Golden State from the playoffs, still I dont see why they shouldnt be in the playoffs, their record was very impressive Ublets, whats unfair is the free bye week Detroit gets against Philly......I smell a sweep there

    there seems to be a lot of speculation as to whether cardiff will be allowed to play or not, but conference side OXFORD UNITED won the league cup, which was automatic entry for the uefa cup, they did not play a single european game !     I just returned from Anaheim where my wife was attending a conference. I loved it there. There were positives and negatives however I really consider that to be a place I could live. How much money would my wife and I need to make to live comfortably in the area? My wife has a masters degree in Human Organization Management, and I am about to graduate with an MBA with an Information Technology emphasis.     OK, I'm almost 20 & I've been doing this for about 5 years now. I have a journal that I have been writing love letters in for my future husband, I was inspired when I went to a youth conference at my church & the woman talking told us about how she wrote love letters to her husband before she married him & on her wedding night, she gave him the journal. Mind you, I don't write in it every single day but I do write in it enough. It's a small journal with a white rose that says "Love" on it & I've enclosed my deepest thoughts, etc. about my hope for a future with him. Because of this, I am almost finished with my journal (I've had it for 5 yrs now). Before, I used to think it was a cheesy/immature idea before I started actually doing it. I dont' want to make it a public affair to anyone & I don't tell very many people (only people that know are my mom & a close friend). I guess I just wanted to ask what are your thoughts on this? Peter Gibbons: Why do you think I am creating big shoes for my husband to fill? My journal is not a journal of expectations of him.     one day i was going up to my little brothers highschool for a teacher conference because i am his legal gaurdian since our parents died, and he said he had to use th bathrom so i waited outside for him i didn't know i was also standing the teachers lounge and i overheard a bunch of female teachers talking about the students in a sexual way and one of them mentioned my little brothers name i didnt think too much of it cuz its a common name but when i peeked in door i found out later that it was the teacher who i talked to at the conference i am starting to get worried because i also pulled up in the driveway the next week and heard him and his friends talking about having sex with one of his teachers while they were playing basketball should i be worried or is this a coincodince by the way his teacher is pretty and young but i think something is up i am 21 and my brother is a junior in highschool too many teachers are doing this lately and the boys dont mind please answer

    Hello, my name is Kaitlyn. I'm a sophomore in highschool and I've been doing 300m hurdles for the past 2 years. Last year I was able to qualify for regionals (53, PR=51.22). And this year I've already qualified (PR=51.04). So we have a conference meet this wednesday and I really want to break 50. I always have endurance left in the end, so what can help me break 50? Such as..starting speed and speed throughout.. BTW= I run a 1:06 400m..and I still had more finishing endurance after that. Thanks in advance!

    ...always butts his nose into boxing business, like the press conference for the Hopkins Calzaghe fight etc? He always acts like he's a proper boxer, even though the Rocky series were great i think he's milking them too much like he's a legend in the sport. Even when Hopkins faked a low blow from Calzaghe last night Stallone was crying foul play when he didn't even see it clearly! He needs to mind his own business, there's only so much publicity you can draw from such film series until it just gets boring.

    Ok so I lied to my mom about this field trip, and told her it was for a certain amount of days, it was out of state and that it was schol-related. That it was a conference thing about some program I'm in. It wasn't at all so on the day that I was leaving she called me and said she wanted to talk to the person in charge so I called my friend and we did 3 way but my mom knew I was lying. My mom said when I go home that we're going to have problems, she said I better tell the truth but I cannot tell the truth(I ended visiting my boyfriend and I'm not allowed to date) so i don't know what to tell her at all. I want to keep the new lie within the old one. Maybe something like it was for to talk about the program but it was optional and it was unsupervised?

    It costs about $3,000 all together, and I really don't want to miss this once in a lifetime oppurtunity. I was chosen out of over 5,000 kids. At the conference, we also get to hear a speech by Lance Armstrong and will be able to see monumental places around Washington D.C. My parents said they could help me out, but they still want me to make some money. I really want to do something that i will enjoy. I would like to relieve my parents because they really deserve it. I want to have a summer job that lets me be creative. Nothing to fancy but something that something a teen would enjoy. Thanks!

    Would there be anyone who was NOT keeping their eye open for someone? Could any of them just be going for worship? (It's a young adults Catholic weekned conference but not just for singles or anything.) (The guy I have a crush on went last weekend. He's very religious. I don't know a ton about him, but the way he acts around me, I also think he had a crush on me.) Could he have really gone just for worship and growth or are these things for mingling and for meeting other singles? Just curious. (It's not a single only conference though.)

    I've had a boyfriend for the past 3 weeks now and everything's been great up until 2 days ago. We use to talk either on the phone or thru txt everyday and more than once a day. 2 days ago however, he hasn't returned my txts and when i rang him to ask if i was going to be seeing him soon, he was cold and gave me one word answers. I think this may have been because I left suddenly on a work trip during the week and didn't let him know I was gone. It came up at the last minute and it was just an over night conference. I explained all this to him but he's just uninterested in anything I have to say. I have no idea what to do about this because I really really like him and want to make it work. Ive txt him at least 10 times asking him if he wants to still be in the relationship and whether he's going to talk to me anytime soon but he hasn't replied to any txts or calls

    So, I want to go to this national conference thing for my university. Problem is, my dad doesn't like the idea of allowing me to go away for a whole weekend! Im an adult, yes, but I'm also dependent on him for money...there is a chance I can convince him to let me go...and if he doesn't allow it, I stilll will go because this is an amazing opportunity. Anyways, I'm upset because I have to pay for a lot of it..it's probably end up costing me $200 ormore! I thought it would be all paid for..and I was all set on going.     I'm a big fan of Chris Paul and the Hornets, and I just want to know who else thinks New Orleans will make it to the NBA Finals and win it all. I've been hearing all this hype about the Lakers dominating the Western Conference, but personally, I don't think they're all that good. Share your thoughts.
