  1. Resolved Question: microSD from BlackBerry to PC / FORMAT the device?
  2. 16 Feb 2008 at 5:22pm
I use in my BlackBerry 8100 (Pearl) a "microSD" with 1 GB of capacity in which I store, pictures, documents, music and everything else so that it doesn't affect the8 MB original memory. Now I want to copy it, back to my computer and my PC request me that first I have to "FORMAT" the "microSD"! * * * My question is, will I lose all the data stored on the device (microSD) once I allow to format to my PC or will the information stored stay? * * * I buy a ?microSD? with 2 GB for another BB 8100 and my PC accept it to me without asking to format it, and I was able to exchange all data without a problem, same brand "ScanDisk"! Thank you for their support!

  3. Resolved Question: My CD Writer doesn't want to read copied CD's?
  4. 16 Feb 2008 at 2:24pm
Okay, this is weird. Since I formatted my PC, my CD writer doesn't want to read copied CD's anymore (neither data, or audio). It copies CD's (cause it some how reads it through Nero), but it doesn't read it so I can open the files. It opens all original Audio CD's but no CD's created by me. It always worked %100 untill I formatted my PC. I did try to reinstall the software, but it doesn't work. HELP!!!! I can't get to my imporant files! Aminda Didn't you read what I just said? It has been like that since I formatted my pc. It won't help to format my PC, I just did! I am %100 positive that I have no virus or spyware on my PC.

  5. Resolved Question: My files are still on my USB drive AFTER I reformatted it,...
  6. 16 Feb 2008 at 1:45pm
I completely reformatted my 160 GB USB drive. There are still 3 folders on the drive that didn't get erased for some reason. Before I reformatted it, it gave me the following message below: "Format cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Format may run if this volume is dismounted first. Would you like to force a dismount on this volume. Y/N? " Of course I typed Y, and then I got a message "Volume dismounted, all open handles to this volume are invalid" The reformatting process went on, but when I opened up the drive, the same 3 folders are still there, and I can not delete them for some reason. 2 of the folders are just basic data type folders. One of the folders is titled really weird (ie = 48nfapsd85438nl39a;ads049) I opened up the folder and can not delete any of the subfolders either. Is there some type of command/process I can use so that I can delete things from this drive ?

  9. Resolved Question: How can I change for file format of a USB drive from FAT32...
  10. 16 Feb 2008 at 10:26am
About a year ago, I had a USB External drive that was in FAT32 file format. At that time, someone gave me a really easy DOS command that formatted it to NTFS. I think it was somewhat similiar to below: Format F: / NTFS Format NTFS F:/ It was something close to these commands. It was real easy, now I have another friend asking me and I can't remember how to do it. I know all the data (or so I was told) gets erased, but on one drive I did, it didn't. These are those typical USB drives that are around 120/160 GB that are used to put data on. Thanks for all answers,,,I know it's an easy command, but can't remember, frustrating. !!

  16. 15 Feb 2008 at 3:16pm
I currently have Windows ME. Yeah. Heh. I'm looking to upgrade to XP, but when the OS is installed, I'd have to format my hard drive to accept it right? And I have a lot of data I want to keep. If I make a backup disk (It'd be with Nero) of the files I want from ME, and then install the Nero program again and get all my files back? Or will there be some sort of conflict between OS data?

  19. Resolved Question: Help! Hacker invaded my network!?
  20. 15 Feb 2008 at 5:06am
Someone managed to get into my PC and even talk to me! It's probably because I left many data available for public access. What can I do now to minimize the damage and get rid of that hacker? Will it help putting up linux instead of Vista and format the harddrive, plus setting all security options to the Max? Is there anything else important?

  25. Resolved Question: php table question?
  26. 14 Feb 2008 at 8:15pm
On my website I'm reading a bunch of data from a mysql database and displaying in a table. For some reason though it seems like for every row that there is in the table, the top of the table moves farther down the page. It's like there's just blank space being added in before the table begins. And for every line that gets added to the table there's another blank line added in before the table. It makes absolutely no sense. I tried completely getting ride of the CSS and just going with no special formatting and it still does it. Has anyone ever heard of this and know why this might be happening?

  27. Resolved Question: Java programming help - search function?
  28. 14 Feb 2008 at 12:55pm
Purpose: Demonstrate the ability to create and execute a JAVA program that utilizes complex data structures to solve a daily life problem. Assignment: Write a program that will accept up to ten names (first and last names) and associated birthdate. Your program should ask the user for how many people s/he wants to enter and then read the names (first and last) and the corresponding birth-date in the following format: MM/DD/YYYY. Your program should then use a menu that allows the user to select either the way s/he wants to display the list of the entries, sorted by last name, first name, or birth-date, or to search for a specific entry by a specific field (last name, first name or birth-date) from data entered by the user. The program should terminate when the user selects exit from the menu. I'm not asking anyone to do this for me, I'm asking how to do the search function, and how am I going to sort it by birth date in that format? Thanks in advance. Also, how do i do the menu thing? I want it to display 4 choices, whether to sort by DOB, Lastname, or firstname. Just want a point in the right direction here.

  31. Voting Question: EXCEL. I'm trying to format 2 worksheets the same.?
  32. 14 Feb 2008 at 11:36am
I have 2 worksheets in one file. I want both of them to be the exact format as far as column & row height & width. The 1st worksheet has all the data. The 2nd is just copying info from some of the cells in the 1st worksheet. On the 2nd worksheet, how can I get the cell size to expand to show all the info from the 1st worksheet without doing it manually? I've already selected wrap text for all the cells but some of the cells still don't show all the text.

  33. Resolved Question: Linking Excel document to Word document?
  34. 14 Feb 2008 at 10:54am
What I am doing is linking an Excel spreadsheet to a Word file, so that when data on the spreadsheet changes, it is automatically updated on the Word file. I got the linking figured out ok, but when the data in the Word file updates, it inserts a line return before and after the number that is linked, and it is playing hell with the formatting on the Word file. Anyone else run into this and know how to fix it? I've been pulling my hair out for 2 hours now trying to get it to NOT put in it's own line returns, but it keeps doing it. Even if I manually remove the line returns, it puts them back in once the Excel data updates again. What is going on here?!

  37. Resolved Question: Which is better for data backup to DVD, UDF or ISO?
  38. 14 Feb 2008 at 5:09am
I remember reading somewhere a while back that UDF was newer and had things in it that were more advanced than ISO that enabled for error correction, so that in case a disc got scratched, if it was written in UDF this would not be as big a problem if it was written in ISO. I might even be thinking of a different format than UDF. So what's the best format to backup data to DVD and why? If UDF suffers from compatibility problems then what about UDF/ISO?

  44. 13 Feb 2008 at 9:12am
I'm using a programme called findmypast.com I input all the details that I have, relating to my family. I wanted to see my finished product, but have come up against a snag. At the moment, I am unable to print the data I have input into my family tree. When I contacted findmypast.com about printing my chart, I got the following message - "You cannot currently print your family tree on the site at this time. However, this feature is forthcoming. You will be able to print any of the views shown in the bottom part of the screen as well as standard reports in PDF format including Pedigree Chart and Family Group Records. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause" As I want to make a chart/familytree NOW, can someone suggest a free programme, that will let me input all of my data going back seven generations and then let me print what I have input? I feel kind of let down by findmypast.com after three weeks of hard work. Dunk (Aged 80)

  77. Resolved Question: What is Wiki?
  78. 10 Feb 2008 at 7:38pm
We are a group of developers that was asked to develop a wiki application for requirement gathering. But we have two different opinion how to interprete First interpretation "Wiki is an engine that can run wiki base applications. In my point of view Wiki is similar to database engines. There are many database engines such as Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, MySQL and so on. We can create our own database construct tables, views, store procedures and then can manipulate data. If our database is created using Oracle we have to install Oracle database engine to run our database. We can use the features provided by the database engine to access our data. We don?t need to develop from scratch how to store the data, how to search and so on. We just use SQL language of specific database engine." Second interpretation "Wiki itself is an application, it is not just an engine or library. Although as like most good application, it can be customized for custom need. Wiki is a web 2.0 application that enable user to write / edit / change document easily. It also enable user to do formatting. There is no direct relation of wiki and its database nor the choice of programming language. Just like any application can be built using any db or language" Please kindly share your view. Thanks!

Here are the cameras i might want to get : http://www.amazon.com/JVC-GY-HD110U-Definition-Professional-Camcorder/dp/B000GT9MV8/r ef=sr_1_31?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1202523251&sr=8-31 http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=CNVXHA1 I'm never going to play it on TV because i have SD Tv. But i was wondering if Firewire/i-link can connect these camcorders to my laptop. I know its going to be a MPEG 4 format but i don't care. I just want to know how to connect a Pro HD camcorder to a 40G local disk Laptop. To first person who answered this: I didn't mean the memory stick. Camcorders uses DV tapes. I was wondering if i can put my videos into my laptop and still fit into my memory. I don't care if everything is deleted because i am only going to us the camera for shooting short films.

I'm setting up my PS2 for the first time (I'm new to gaming). I'm in a loop in the setup. I said yes to formatting my memory card, but now it's telling me that "there is no data" for my memory card and I can't get past this screen! It's a nyko mb card (don't know if it matters or not).< >
