  19. Resolved Question: Who is Professor Rashid Khalidi ?
  20. 6 Apr 2008 at 9:05am
Obama Connection to Terrorists Revealed by Talk Show Host By Jim Kouri, 3/24/2008 9:02:29 AM There is a far-reaching scandal brewing for presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, thanks to a radio talk show host based in Oregon. Syndicated talk host Laurie Roth's revelations make the news story about Obama's relationship with a racist, anti-American pastor look like child's play. A top official at the Pentagon during former-President George H. W. Bush's Administration and a former CIA intelligence officer maintain that Barack Obama and former Weather Underground honcho William Ayers funneled money to Professor Rashid Khalidi, a known terrorist sympathizer. Khalidi serves on the faculty of Columbia University in New York and is best known as the professor who invited Iranian President Ahmedinejad to visit Columbia University after he finished his speech at the United Nations. According to confidential sources, Khalidi has direct ties to the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), a group on the US State Department's list of known terrorist groups. "One source for this information was once a top military figure in the 1990s. He doesn't take making allegations lightly. If he says something happened, believe me, it happened," said syndicated radio talk show host Laurie Roth - http://www.therothshow.com "Another source is a former agent for the Central Intelligence Agency, who is an expert in counterterrorism," said Roth, who broke the story on her show Friday night. "I certainly don't want to demonize someone because they are a woman, black or liberal running for President. I love the idea that in our culture, a black and woman can now run. However, it does matter to me with any candidate, their consistency with good judgment, their voting record, their association with people with questionable backgrounds and commitment to our country," she said during her show. Here are the connections as described by very reliable sources, who possess impressive military, national security and intelligence backgrounds: Allison Davis, who hired the young Obama into his small, Chicago law firm Davis, Miner, and Barnhill in 1993, left the firm in late 1999-2000 and became a housing developer. Davis went into business with Tony Rezko, the indicted businessman who's scheduled to go on trial for corruption in Illinois, and who was a major fundraiser for Obama. Davis met Rezko when he was a client of Davis, Miner, and Barnhill. Rezko is currently under indictment in Illinois for demanding kickbacks from companies seeking state government business contracts under Governor Blagojevich. Obama was identified as one of the politicians cited in the indictment as having received political contributions from Rezko out of his kickback funds. Tony Rezko hosted fundraising events for Obama in his home and was on Obama's US Senate campaign finance committee which collected $14 million for his campaign against conservative Alan Keyes, an African-American who served as an Ambassador during the Reagan Administration. In order to avoid a scandal during his presidential campaign, Obama returned $85,000 that Rezko and his family had donated to him. In early 2000, while Obama served as a state senator in Illinois, he also sat on the board of the nonprofit Woods Fund. The Woods Fund is a Chicago-based foundation that claims its primary mission is to make financial grants in order to increase and/or create opportunities for disadvantaged people and low-income communities. The chairman of the Woods fund board in 2000 was Howard Stanback, who like Obama also had connections to Davis, according to the reliable sources. Davis submitted a grant request to the Woods Foundation for a $1 million investment in his development partnership, Neighborhood Rejuvenation LP, that would be used to finance low-income senior-citizen housing. Under normal circumstances, a board member is supposed to recuse himself or herself from decisions where they have a business or personal relationship. Obama, who did not recuse himself, voted to approve Davis' grant request. Stanback, on the other hand, abstained from voting. The housing project, which also received a $5.7 million loan from the city of Chicago, in turn donated almost $70,000 in political contributions to Obama's presidential campaign. In the past, Rezko gave Obama -- who served as an Illinois State Senator -- his first two political contributions in 1995, $1,000 each from two of his companies. In 1998, State Senator Obama wrote letters to city and state officials urging them to fund a Davis-Rezko housing project. It was an obvious quid pro quo arrangement. Another major fundraiser for Obama is William Ayers, who also sat on the board of the Woods Fund with Obama and is a professor at the University of Chicago. Bill Ayers, along with his wife Bernadine Dohrn, was an active member of the Weather Underground, a radical left-wing group that advocated violence against the United State. Both Ayers and Dohrn went "underground" in 1970 after others in the group accidentally detonated a bomb in a Greenwich Village (New York City) townhouse. The blast killed three of the group's members including Ayers' girlfriend at the time. While Ayers and Dohrn were hiding from law enforcement, the Weather Underground participated in the bombings of the US Capital, the Pentagon and a State Department building. In 1981 Ayers and Dohrn turned themselves in to federal authorities, but all charges were dropped as a result of alleged "government legal misconduct." In his 2001 memoir, Ayers wrote, "I don't regret setting the bombs. I feel we didn't do enough." Ayers and Dohrn are known to have held at least one fundraiser for Barack Obama in their Chicago home. During Obama's last year on the board of The Woods Fund (2002), he participated in awarding grants, including a $70,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network, a Chicago-based group founded by Rashid and Mona Khalidi. In another suspected quid pro quo arrangement similar to those with Ayers and Rezko, Rashid Khalidi also held a fundraising event in his home for Barack Obama. In the Middle East, Rashid Khalidi was known as a man to be reckoned with. From 1972 through 1983, Khalidi was the director in Beirut of the official Palestinian press agency, FAFA. His wife worked there as well. According to sources, when the Khalidi's left Chicago for Columbia University in New York, Rashid was honored with the Edward Said Chair in Arab Studies at that Ivy League university. Their goodbye party in Chicago included testimonials from Bill Ayers and Barack Obama. "What other fund raising connections does Obama have? How many times can you look the other way in church and with fund raising situations with more than questionable people?" asked Ms. Roth. "We all make mistakes in judgment with people and their backgrounds sometimes, but usually we learn and pick better friends and associates. How come Obama seems to have continued hanging around more than questionable characters with anti American backgrounds and some with criminal behaviors? Now one is being indicted, Tony Rezco, who raised a ton of money for Obama," she said. "As President, how much would he look the other way when dealing with national security and dangers to our country? How much would he listen passively to terrorist leaders then lecture us on our ugly American status? This kind of change is not what our country needs!" added the popular talk show host, whose show is syndicated by USA Radio Network In a related story, during an interview on Thursday morning (March 20) with Black Panther leader Malik Zulu Shabazz, Fox News Channel viewers learned that Shabazz' group endorsed and supported Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States. Even on Fox -- an organization wrongly accused of being "conservative" -- the interviewers were careful in their questioning of Shabazz, a recognized racist and anti-American radical. The New Black Panther Party leader proudly announced on Fox News that his organization endorsed and Obama for President. "While some people may say that Barack Obama has no control over who endorses him, he should have control over what endorsements are posted on his websites," said Laurie Roth, who, besides hosting a popular talk show, is a regular columnist for NewswithViews.com "The endorsement of the New Black Panther Party was posted on Barack Obama's website. Why was this tolerated unless Barack Obama wanted their endorsement? If he does not want their endorsement, how much control over his staff is he going to have once he's elected President?" asks Mike Baker. The New Black Panther Party is openly anti-White, anti-Jewish, and anti-America. After Obama's Tuesday damage-control speech, his campaign pulled the Black Panthers' endorsement story off their website. It's also been reported that Obama's campaign staff was allowed to fly a Che Guevara flag inside his office, according to NewsMax "Do these revelations demonstrate a pattern of Barack Obama's judgment? If so, then I do not want him dealing with world leaders. I do not want these groups having access to the White House. Do you?" asks the New Jersey-based political strategist. "It appears the Barack Obama water carriers within the mainstream news media are on the job as usual -- ignoring another story that has the alternative media on the Internet buzzing: Obama's embracement of an endorsement by the radical, racist organization," Baker added. To contact Laurie Roth telephone 509-701-1884 www.therothshow.com Jim Kouri, CPP is currently fifth vice-president of the National Association of Chiefs of Police and he's a staff writer for the New Media Alliance (thenma.org). 28. 5 Apr 2008 at 10:31pm
I've learned: if statements loops switch case arrays strings file i/o functions And well... that's it. Where do you suggest I go to learn more? for example, I'm a member of the website http://hackthissite.org/ and I want to be able to do permanent programming mission 1. To do this, you need to write a program that will check 10 randomly generated, scrambled words, against a wordlist that you download, and then just submit the un-scrambled words to the site. it's not like I need GUI, i can just write the un-scrambled words to a file, then open it and submit it.. I have 30 seconds it total. Where do you think I should go to learn how to do this? This is just an example of something I need to learn to do, but if you could supply me with a site that will teach me.. basically everything, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  38. 4 Apr 2008 at 6:59pm
Okay I was thinking about writing a story series called "In The Closet" which I have a lot of time to work with, but I couldn't find any sites that could except just a random story. Its not any specific anime, manga, TV show, book, or anything along those lines. Its just a story with made up characters, and just good fiction. Are there any sites that I can submit this to, and also get reviews for it frequently, if not frequently, then it doesnt matter, just so long as I have reviews. Thank You

Volunteers keep eye on border using their Web cams Sean Holstege The Arizona Republic Apr. 4, 2008 12:00 AM It's not just the government doing high-tech surveillance of the border anymore. And it doesn't take a huge defense contractor and a satellite, either. Two volunteer groups, one a splinter from the well-known Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, have cameras in Cochise County pointed at the Mexican border up to 200 yards away and at busy smuggling routes. Anyone with a fast-enough Internet connection can sign up to work the cameras remotely, although one of the groups first submits volunteers to a background check. The volunteers report any sightings of smugglers or immigrants to the Border Patrol. advertisement The small-scale operations may seem quaint, but the border groups maintain that their cameras, which transmit wirelessly to the Web, have led to the arrest of hundreds of border crossers in recent months. The efforts highlight how, in the groups' view, a fairly simple system can work as well as the government's approach, which is a sophisticated, high-tech satellite-surveillance operation called Project 28. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's "virtual fence" experiment was delayed eight months by glitches, and questions linger about how well the $20 million system works. Sen. John McCain called the project "a disgrace"; another Republican congressman introduced a bill to scrap the experiment. "We are building a model that already works better than Project 28," said Jon Healy, founder of the TechnoPatriots, a commercial venture and offshoot of the Minuteman group. Federal officials said they haven't seen the volunteer cameras and couldn't comment. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff insists that Project 28 near Sasabe is effective, although contractors are refining how the 28-mile pilot system of cameras and sensors beams data to Border Patrol agents via satellite. "I think this Project 28 will be good once we get to tweak it," Border Patrol spokesman Ramon Rivera said. "We want to see who's crossing the border, what they're carrying and if they have a mole on their face." Armchair volunteers The non-profit American Border Patrol, based in Sierra Vista, launched remote-controlled cameras on the border in 2005, allowing armchair volunteers to log in and view the border from the safety of their homes. Volunteers are given a background check before being allowed to work the cameras. Since November, the non-profit TechnoPatriots, based in Palominas, has operated a long-range camera that can be remotely panned, tilted and zoomed, plus a thermal camera that monitors the border by night. Volunteers must pay $10 when they sign up on the Web site. Healy said he plans to get more cameras, sound monitors, ground sensors and software that weaves it all together. His group says its volunteers have reported 160 sightings to the Border Patrol, resulting in 116 arrests. The Border Patrol could not confirm the number because it does not track whether callers belong to such groups. But agents said they are grateful for any help from the public. TechnoPatriots invites volunteers to sign up for 30-minute shifts to watch the Web, manipulate the cameras and report illegal border crossings. The volunteer groups say they can do the job more cheaply than Project 28 because their systems use high-speed wireless Internet, not satellites. "If I had the money Boeing had, there would not be one single person walking through there undetected," said Mike Christie, operations director for American Border Patrol. By day, the cameras show the windswept beige grass and brush landscape of Cochise County, punctuated occasionally by movements of people on smuggling trails. By night, volunteers watch a dark, murky image for the ghostly shape of humans emitting body heat. On a limited scale, the groups' efforts parallel those of the Border Patrol. For years, Border Patrol dispatchers have forwarded information from agents' observations, static cameras and sensors to roving agents via radio. The government's Secure Border Initiative, including Project 28, will add a network of cameras and sensors to help agents better know the situation in advance. Boeing contract The virtual fence is a string of towers that beam signals via satellite into the trucks of agents and the command center. The idea is for agents and supervisors to have common, precise information and to move cameras remotely to get a better read on border crossers. The problem is agents still find themselves in dead spots, and for months, government contractor Boeing Corp. had to work out the kinks in the relays. After accepting Boeing's work, Homeland Security agreed to pay the $20 million contract even though government auditors and Border Patrol Chief David Aguilar testified to Congress that Project 28 didn't meet the 95 percent detection standards. Homeland Security officials overseeing the project said the next phase will be pushed back three years as Boeing refines the technology. Still, officials insist the system is effective. Project 28 has resulted in 2,400 arrests in its first month of operation, agency spokeswoman Laura Keehner said. Border Patrol agents say it already gives them improved capability. Rivera said the technology can distinguish people from animals, count them and give agents a good idea if they are armed. The trick now is to get that information piped directly to their patrol trucks. Homeland Security went to Boeing looking to cover communication dead spots via satellite. Rivera acknowledges that wireless would work well but would also mean persuading property owners to allow easements to build and maintain cell towers. Based on the prices and ranges of equipment bought by volunteer groups, if cameras and cell towers were installed to cover the entire 1,950-mile border, it would cost roughly $40 million to $250 million. The government's technology plan for the border is estimated at $1.2 billion. I think i will join them

  53. Resolved Question: Turnitin.com?
  54. 2 Apr 2008 at 4:03pm
I just submitted my paper in and my score was a 44%. On the detailed report, it shows that I used a lot of information from this one website, which I did. But I also cited that website on my works cited page. My intention was not to plagiarize and steal someone else's words. It was difficult to find a site that had information on my topic. So i used that site a lot. I know that by now, I'm in college, I should know how to properly cite my sources. And I thought I did. But I guess i didn't since my score was so high. Now I'm completely panicking. I have no idea what's going to happen. I'm praying that once the prof reads the paper himself, he'll be able to see that even if I didn't correctly site my sources, I didn't do it on purpose. What do you guys think? I know I should have researched how to properly cite something but I didn't. And there's nothing that I can do about that now. I would rewrite my paper but I already turned it in and it was due today.

I have a sister who had to correct hers as well and they responded in two days and it has been a week with no response back. However I did file my taxes this year and my sister did not, could this be a reason why the wait is longer? I'm confused I go on the fafsa site to check my status and it says processed. 59. Resolved Question: Help! My ex keeps trying to increase his visitation?
  60. 2 Apr 2008 at 9:21am
I have 2 children from a previous marriage. My divorce to my ex was messy/ugly with issues of abuse on his side toward me. We live an hour away from each other. He sees his kids one night a week and every seceond weekend of which I do all the driving and wait for them for 4 hours during their weeknight visitation. I only miss for legitimate sickness and bad weather where there a weather warnings. I always offer make-ups. Now my ex INSISTS I drive the kids in during snow storms etc. and is trying to strong arm me into him having them more time then he is allotted by threatening legal action against me if I don't submit to him. He also denies me my vacation times (proposed for summer) stating I have them for most of the time. He expects to have them every holiday and almost every weekend in the summer. Does anyone have any advice on where I can find info on how to deal with this? All the sites I can find talk of ex's that withold visitation from other which I do not. Help! I won custody by always saying "as long as it is good for the kids I fully support """'s relationship with his children. I realise that the court is not interested in what he did to me in the past, they are only interested in the kids which I also feel is right. He thinks I will not go back to court, which I am defintately thinking of doing as he bullies with threats of legal action. Yes, I have a court order which I abide by by the letter. Yes, it does state pick up and drop off points. In Canada, if a parent moves farther than a certain distance away, they are responsible for the driving. I won the right to re-locate. I also have a contract that says joint custody with final say on all decisions except a move farther away that would impede access. That doesn't top him from trying every tactic to bully me into what he wants. Court is expensive

  78. 1 Apr 2008 at 6:31pm
I can't use a "database" as in mySQL, it's too confusing. How can i make users submit Reviews to a page that you can then view the text with an i-frame. Also, how do i make it so that there is 2 breaks between each entry? Is there any way to do this without PHP? Please don't send me a site that makes one for you, its too unprofessional. PLEASE ELABORATELY EXPLAIN AND DO NOT TELL ME WHAT TO DO WITHOUT GIVING A CODE!

http://www.heraldextra.com/content/view/260751/58/ Can E-Verify help stem tide of illegal immigration? Print E-mail Daily Herald No! Database will be a regulatory nightmare Jim Harper With the failure of Congress to reform immigration laws, political leaders are searching for election-year achievements in this area. But the emerging consensus in favor of "electronic employment eligibility verification" will collapse when Americans learn the details of the technical and regulatory contraption being proposed. The New Employee Verification Act recently joined the "SAVE Act" and a dozen other bills in the House of Representatives that would require employers to submit every new employee to a federal government database system for a background check. The Immigration Reform and Control Act began all this in 1986. It conscripted U.S. employers into immigration law enforcement by requiring them to collect I-9 forms from new hires. Ten years later, the "Basic Pilot" program began. Renamed "E-Verify" last year, its 52,000 participants--less than 1 percent of all employers--submit worker information to a government Web site for comparison against Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security databases. When E-Verify cannot confirm a worker's eligibility, it issues the employer a "tentative nonconfirmation." If nonconfirmed workers do not present themselves at federal government offices within eight days for review of their papers, the government issues a "final nonconfirmation," barring them from working at their new jobs. If E-Verify goes national, get used to hearing that Orwellian term: "nonconfirmation." In December 2006, the SSA's Office of the Inspector General estimated that the agency's "Numident" file -- the data against which Basic Pilot checks worker information -- has an error rate of 4.1 percent. With 55 million new hires each year, that is about 11,000 tentative nonconfirmations per workday in the U.S. Illegal immigrants would respond dynamically, not passively. More would collude with employers to work under the table, avoiding E-Verify, other regulations and taxes all at the same time. Others would deepen the minor identity frauds they commit today. E-Verify can pick up multiple uses of given identities and "nonconfirm" those identities. This would make it more difficult for illegal immigrants to work, of course, but it would have the same effect on American citizens. Victims of identity fraud today encounter financial difficulties; under national E-Verify, they would be unemployable. Even if a national employment eligibility verification system were workable, it is not a system we should want. Once built, this government monitoring system would soon be extended to housing, financial services, and other essentials to try to get at illegal immigrants. It would also be converted to policy goals well beyond immigration control. Direct regulatory power over American citizens would flow to the federal government. Even more information about Americans' lives would flow into federal government databases. And sensitive personal data would be exposed to more security threats. Electronic employment eligibility verification would immerse America's workers and businesses in Kafkaesque bureaucracy and erode the freedoms of the American citizen, even as it failed to stem illegal immigration. Ultimately, there is no alternative but for Congress to repair the broken immigration system by aligning legal immigration with our nation's economic demand for labor. ? Jim Harper is director of information policy studies at the Cato Institute in Washington.

Most sources will focus exclusively on either topic of education or politics, so try to find at least two sources per topic. · Write one paragraph about each source, summarizing the main points presented. · Provide APA reference citations. · Submit all of your summaries in a single 200- to 300-word post.
