    My 18th birthday is coming up in a month (7 may) and I have no idea what to do! I am from Australia and 18 is the age that you can legally drink and do anything you want, basically. I don't want to spend a fortune on a party but I wanna have a memorable night. I dont want to just go clubbing or anything either because there are alot of my friends who aren't 18 yet and thus could not enjoy my 18th with me. I was considering going away with my boyfriend to Brisbane or Sydney for a weekend to celebrate but then all my friends would be angry for not being able to celebrate with me. Any ideas as to what I should do with be great! Thanks :-)

    I'm travelling to Oz for a year and i'm flying from Ireland to Sydney in one week. What kind of clothes do i bring? It's Autumn i know, but how cold is it? What's it like a night. I hear the temperatures plummet at that time. Any help would be appreciated. At the moment i'm thinking t-shirts and jeans - but that might be a bit silly!

    I am a 19 year old nanny for 3 boys. Ages 15 months, 3 and 5. They aren't allowed tv or computer while I am there so I have to entertain them and then deal with their temptantrums when I turn off the tv that they sneak upstairs to watch. I clean up after the children after they destroy their play room and living room. I do laundry, dishes(by hand, no dish washer) and clean the house. I make meals for the kids and sometimes dinner for the family. We never discussed the rate I would be getting paid but this last week I worked 26 hours and was paid $180. This is $7/hr. I live on Cape Cod and everything is more expensive here so we get paid more...(at the local grocery store I would be starting off at $9.25/hr.) Personally I find $7/hr to be insulting. I feel like I can't just leave the family without anyone, but I can't live off of the money I am making with them. Any advice? -Sydney

    Any one know any good sites? or anyone selling them? Ive already checked the rspca website and they didnt really have anything good We havent decided on a breed yet, and we dont mind males or females but we want 2, and small-medium (about miniature schnauzer) sized. My dad wants something that will protect the yard but me and my little sister (whos 12) both want something cute, and entertaining. any suggestions on dog breeds? oh and we also dont want to pay any more than $150 each

    Heres the skinny I have this project where i have a list of capital cities and the country they are located in. I have to work out approximate costs it would be to fly between various match-ups of these countries. eg. How much does it cost to fly from: Beijing, China to Sydney, Australia Beijing, China to New York, USA Beijing, China to Paris, France... etc and the list goes on Is there some kind of online flight cost generator thingy that can do this?

    So, I got arrested within an area in Sydney that was under police superversion because of a suspected potential riot. Anyhow, a police officer pulls me over and suspects I am apart of the impending riots, because I am a male, driving alove, it all seemed apparently suspicious. So the officer arrests me, and takes my vehicle, and I was taken into custody. I of course, was wrongly accused. Did this officer even have the right to arrest me? I mean he was wrongful in his acts, and then take away my car? Do I have any leads to winning a case? Help guys ! Thanks :

    Nick D'Arcy (who has been selected for the Australian 2008 Olympic Swimming Team) is alleged to have assulted Simon Cowley (another Australian Swimmer) while out in Sydney last week. Tonight it has been revealed that Simon Cowley has had 5! metal plates inserted in his head to help repair a fractured eye socket, broken nose and broken jaw after a marathon operation. Apparently he is in a lot of pain. How could a person inflict this kind of damage to another Team mate with one punch! D'Arcy has been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm - the maximum penalty for which is 10 years' jail - and a second charge of assault. Do you think he should be sacked from the Australian Swimming Team? I certainly do.

    My partner and I already have a daughter name Alexandra Hailey. We are expecting a second daughter in a few months. I want to name her Madilyn Marie, but my partner prefers Sydney Danielle. She says that Sydney "goes better with Alex" and that Madilyn is too "girlie". I think the baby could always go by "Dilyn" later if she wants to. What are your opinions regarding the name?

    I've seen and heard people picking up WIN, Prime and SC Ten from Wollongong (around 70-80kms away) in Sydney. How do they do that? I thought specific channels only broadcast to their own city. It suprises me to see TV stations I normally don't in Sydney.

    Because on the news, most the time when the south-west is mentioned, it is the outer suburbs such as Liverpool and beyond and this can make the stereotypes about the area affect Canterbury-Bankstown too eg. I always hear comments others make when I walk past them in uniform from a school in Canterbury-Bankstown. Should Canterbury-Bankstown be a seperate region of Sydney on its own? Or is this the case already?

    Best area ever yes? Beautiful Beaches and people. Great shops and many things to do! We don't care if there is limited public transport.     I'm asking because I was recently arrested, wrongly, and had my car confiscated along with a few of my personal belongings. This was because, I was in an area were the police had recieved information about a potential riot, and people were under suspicions. But this isn't fair! Do I have any rights? I mean i'm sure they can't just arrest at their own pleasure. Please some advice, do I have a case against the policeman? Hey! Yes, it was an off duty police officer, i'm just wondering do they have the same rights as an on-duty police officer i mean, aren't they somewhat restricted, or maybe there is no difference.

    Hi There. I'm looking for a hair dresser in Sydney who perform permanent straightening and that has proven to be good and safe. I've found some places that use bio ionic but this is a US product. However, since it is a japanese system I would prefer japanese products like Crystallizing of Shiseido. Is there any place in sydney where I can trust my hair to do this procedure that use a product other than bio ionic?

    I was watching the morning show a little while ago and it was on homeless kids in Sydney. One boy said he came home at a young age to find his mum had packed up all her stuff and left. He and his brother were left to fend for themselves. No warning, nothing, she was just gone. How could a parent do this to her kids? I understand some just can't cope, but why not call childrens services? Leave them with a friend....anything but just up and leave and let them discover this when they get home. Another girl said her mum kicked her out at 12! 12! It is so young. How bad could she be that a mother would kick their child out so young? Could you ever imagine doing this to your child? I certainly couldn't

    Currently, I think the majority of immigrations coming to Australia are going to the big cities, mainly Perth, Melbourne and Sydney. To prevent these cities from getting too over populated, why don't the Australian government encourage immigration to the smaller towns and cities such as; Wagga Wagga, Rockhampton, Cairns, Townsville - maybe even Canberra. I feel these towns would very much welcome expansion and would take the strain off Australia's bigger cities. Admittedly, the smaller cities may not attract Australians, and many immigrants from first world countries; but I think the opportunities and infrastructure available in the smaller cities would be very attractive to immigrants from significantly poorer nations. What do you think?
