What could be a fairly dreary task is enlivened by the superb implementation of an otherwise fairly standard platform format. Whether using your fists or one of the many weapons lying around the dungeon, the sliding power bar makes performing different moves simple and elegant. The difficulty is also pitched just right. Graphically, things are spot-on; the detailed MODE 1 graphics provide a suitably gloomy ambience. A great tune plays throughout too - a relatively rare thing in CPC games. There are a couple of niggles (Hiro's jumping can be slightly clumsy at times), but generally this is one of the most professional titles ever released for the CPC 28 Jun 2008 at 10:33pm 4 min - Jun 29, 2008 BURNIN' RUBBER - AMSTRAD CPC 15 Feb 2007 at 3:00am 39 sec - Feb 15, 2007 Damn... old man, what a nice view 19 Apr 2006 at 8:00pm 1 min - Apr 20, 2006 A couple of minutes of gameplay of this classic shoot-em-up. It was recorded from an Amstrad 6128 Plus using a Sony handycam (DRC-HC40E PAL) transfering the signal directly to pc via firewire compressing it in realtime M$ DVI format. For transcoding I used the XViD codec. I cut the final part to make the video file smaller. If anyone wants to read the whole scroller, you can do it by running the demo on an emulator. The bagkround noise you can hear in the silent parts is comming from the amstrad's monitor psu, because it's near the panel of my audigy and due to the lack of space, I can't get it any further... If you crank the volume up, you can also hear the noise from the drive loading :) Enjoy this fine production!
See ya,
ASiC 23 Jan 2007 at 10:35pm ![]() 2 min - Jan 24, 2007 Grand Prix Simulator 2 on Amstrad CPC.< Sponsored Links
